3 Steps To Keep Moving Forward

Transcript for this weeks message:

Maintaining motivation is critical to moving yourself forward and making progress. Without it, you'll just bitch about whatever it is that's not going your way. You might curl up under the covers, suck your thumb, eat too much, drink too much, or start other addictive behaviors such as gambling or porn. Maintaining motivation is so important that the purpose of this newsletter is to give you a weekly shot of motivation to keep you on track.

Today, I'm going to give you a big takeaway, a huge hack that if you form into a habit, will definitely change your life for the better. It might sound too simple or too easy, but don't fall for it. This is enormous and will have a massive impact on your relationships and literally everything you do.

Ready? Okay. Develop these three steps into habits and you'll have the power to keep moving forward rather than to fall into negative behaviors that don't serve you.

One, be aware of your bitching. Step one is to develop an awareness of your complaining and blaming. Don't even say that you don't do this. We all do. It can be as simple as, "He makes me so mad," or, "Blaming traffic for being late," or basically saying, "This happened to me, but I didn't really have any choices." Step one is to simply become aware of complaining and blaming.

Two, replace the thought with this one. What can I do about this? It's sort of like trying on a new outfit and it goes something like this. If the dirt was better, I would have won that barrel race. Hey, I'm making an excuse. Yes, I am. "Hey, excuse. I'm going to put you over there for awhile and try on a new outfit. What can I do about this?" Step two is to put the negative thought aside and replace it with "What can I do?"

And three, act on the answer. Your power is in taking responsibility. Without it, you're stuck. You're powerless. After you've asked yourself, "What can I do?" The final step is to act on the answer.

This little process will yield incredible results the more you practice. And I think you're going to practice it because You Are Destined For greatness.
